Advancement in Doing God’s Things

Daily Words of Encouragement
By Priest Knight Scopas Juma Kamonde
Our Verse of Today (26/11/2017)
“As for other matters, brothers and sisters, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.” (1 Thessalonians 4: 1)
The Title of Our Today’s Topic: Advancement in Doing God’s Things
The previous verse was addressed by Apostle Paul to the Christians of Thessalonica as part of his first message to them.
From our verse of today we can learn these very important and valuable points:
1.     Apostle Paul had done his level best to instruct the Christians of Thessalonica so as to live according to the teachings of the Holy Bible in order to please God.
2.     Of course the Christians of Thessalonica had done their level best also in order to be committed to God’s will and indeed they had succeeded in that as Apostle Paul conformed in this verse.
3.     Nevertheless Apostle Paul didn’t stop in that level but he had urge them to keep on doing what they had been doing more and more.
My dear fellow Christians in general and Churches’ leaders in particular, let us learn the following points out of our verse of today:
1.     It is not enough for God’s servants just to deliver God’s word to people so that they can hear only but they must instruct them in order to live according to the teachings of the Holy Bible in their daily lives.
2.     Unless God’s servants see the practical implementation of God’s word in the lives of their followers or God’s people whom they have preached and taught by God’s word, it means that they failed to do God’s will concerning His plan of new life for His people.

3.     In case God’s servants or Churches’ leaders see some fruits of success in the lives of God’s people whom they have served, let them not just to joy and thank God for that but they must keep on doing their level best in order to let God’s people keep on living according to God’s will throughout their lives.
