Our Verse of Today (10/11/2017)
“Walk in obedience
to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and
prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.” (Deuteronomy 5:
33)
The Title of Our Today’s Topic: Blessings of Obeying God’s Word
The previous verse was said by Prophet Moses to the Israelites when he
was urging them to keep God’s commands faithfully throughout their life before
they entered the Promised Land so that they might live and prosper and prolong
their days in the land that they would possess.
From our verse of today we can learn
these very important and valuable points as blessings or rewards for obeying
God’s word:
1. Having the
privilege to Live instead of dying
from; diseases, hunger and war in case of committing sins.
2. Having the
privilege to Prosper in what we do
or have based on God’s blessings upon us due to our obedience to His word.
3. Having the
privilege to Prolong our days by
living as long as possible as we can as a result of God’s favor upon us
through; good health, conducive living conditions and peaceful or stable
community around us.
My dear fellow Christians, since we have chosen to worship the Almighty
God, let us worship Him in spirit and truth; faithfully, seriously and
throughout our life – why? So that we may; live, prosper and prolong our days wherever
we are.
