Daily Words of Encouragement
By Priest Knight Scopas Juma Kamonde
Our Verse of Today (7/11/2017)
“Jesus answered, “Very
truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of
water and the Spirit.” (John 3: 5)
The Title of Our Today’s Topic: The Baptism of Water and Holy Spirit
Our verse of today was said by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to one
of the great teachers of Jews whose name was Nicodemus who came to Him during
night hours.
From our verse of today we can learn
these very important and valuable points:
1. The kingdom
of God is a spiritual kingdom which is being managed spiritual by God Himself.
2. The
membership of this kingdom is open only for those who are baptized by water and
Holy Spirit as well.
3. The baptism
of water is an outer sign for new life of righteousness and holiness by which a
person decides willingly to leave the past life of sins in order to start a new
life according to God’s will.
4. Meanwhile
the baptism of Holy Spirit is meant for the internal cleansing and renewal
through the Holy Spirit by then a person will enjoy a spiritual; anointment,
power, protection and gifts.
My dear fellow Christians, unless we have both the baptism of water and
Holy Spirit, we will not join the membership of the spiritual kingdom of God.
We can be Church goers even some of us can be considered as God’s servants or
Church leaders. Nevertheless, without these baptisms we are outside the
spiritual kingdom of God – believe it or not, this is the truth that we must
know.
My question is; have you really been baptized by both water and Holy
Spirit? For me, I have been baptized by water since 1980s and by Holy Spirit
since 1996.
