Daily Words of Encouragement
By Priest Knight Scopas Juma Kamonde
Our Verse of Today (15/11/2017)
“Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there
is freedom.” (2 Corinthians 3: 17)
The Title of Our Today’s Topic: The Freedom That Is From God
The previous verse was written by Apostle Paul to the Christians of
Corinthians as part of his second message to them in which he had instructed
them concerning a lot of important spiritual and nonspiritual issues.
From our verse of today we can learn
these very important and valuable points:
1. The Holy
Bible tells us clearly that our God is not like us with the nature of flesh and
bones but He is a spiritual being and works through spiritual means.
2. It’s God’s
plan for us to have a spiritual nature upon our existing nature so that we can
live and being led by Holy Spirit throughout our life. By then we can be able
to enjoy a better life and serve Him perfectly.
3. When the
Holy Spirit dwells in our life, we can enjoy the following privileges:
a. We will be
set free from the bandages of sins that enslave those who don’t have God’s
Spirit.
b. We will be
set free from evil spirits that enslave a lot of people who are not under the
control of Holy Spirit.
c. We will be
able to live in accordance to God’s will very easily when we decide to do so.
My dear fellow Christians in general and Churches’ leaders in
particular, what I have mentioned before will not happen automatically just
when we have the Holy Spirit in our life but we must do the following as
preconditions for that:
a. We must
live in holiness and righteousness throughout our life.
b. We must
fight the kingdom of devil persistently and seriously throughout our life
through; prayers, fasting and the true implementation of God’s word.
c. We must
serve God faithfully and seriously throughout our life according to God’s gifts
for us or based on our abilities.
